One week down, five more to go in our six week countdown to the Sex and the City movie! Last week we recapped season one, in which fabulous New York City singleton Carrie Bradshaw loved and lost Mr. Big, sharing every intimate detail of their relationship over cosmopolitans with her three equally single girlfriends, Miranda, Charlotte, and Samantha. Here's what happened next: The Plot: Season two saw the ladies grow a bit more serious in their quest for love, except of course for Samantha, who ended her relationship with the not-so-well-endowed James when he couldn't handle hearing the truth about his shortcomings in couples therapy.

Once again, it's a weekend battle of head-to-head stars. In this corner, we have a longtime troubled actor so good that even jail couldn't keep him from having a career, the invincible Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. And in this corner, we have a man whose career vanished (despite avoiding incarceration) only to return with a vengeance when most people had counted him out, as the newly enchanted Dr. McDreamy, Patrick Dempsey. No matter how often I do it or how long I’ve been doing it for, going to the movies is still one of my favorite things to do. I suspect that’s the case with most of us. There’s something about the experience of going out to the theater that watching a dvd at home (which I also love doing) can’t compete with. Hugh Jackman reprises his role as Wolverine and Rendition's Gavin Hood is directing. MTV recently caught up with Jackman who spoke about the progress they've made shooting Wolverine. The best part - he compares the film to Batman Begins and goes on to talk about how dark of a character Wolverine really is. |

When I was younger, 2012 was a world just three years shy of the one Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg promised in Back to the Future Part II. I can accept it all if Zemeckis and Spielberg can accept that they are filthy, scuzzy liars who broke the hearts of children everywhere. Somebody should tell Biff that the sports almanac is likely bogus business. One thing 2012 can promise, however, is a sequel to 2006's Cars. |
