Fox sent us four new photos from M. Night Shyamalan’s paranoid thriller The Happening. A lot of people staring off at something off screen with a look of fear and of course the obligatory “I’m a filmmaker” shot of M. Night. The Happening hits theaters on June 13th 2008.

I know, your sick to death of me talking about fucking superhero movies but I couldn’t pass this story up. EW have gotten their staff together to compile a list of what they believe will be the top ten highest DOMESTIC (U.S. only) grossing motion pictures of 2008. The results have made for some very interesting readings… I’m not doubting that Iron Man is going to be a huge success and will probably end up somewhere around the $250 million mark if word of mouth is strong but I think The Dark Knight has a good chance of cracking $300 million. |

The people at Marvel Studios have a lot riding on this summer's Incredible Hulk. They hope it will be a successful reboot of the franchise after 2003's The Hulk disappointed fans by focusing on such boring things as story and character when it should have been focusing on the Hulk smashing things. So far, I have to hand it to Marvel: People are now talking about whether Edward Norton will do publicity for the new film, which beats what they were talking about a few months ago, which was whether the movie was going to suck. As always, it's best to shift the attention to behind-the-scenes trivia and away from the product itself. |

I guess moviegoers and critics aren’t the only ones who liked Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Wait, isn’t that just about everyone? No, we’ve forgotten about the film’s producer Judd Apatow. Apparently he was pretty happy with how it turned out too, because he’s re-teaming with the movie’s director Nick Stoller for yet another comedy. Variety says they’re working on a movie called Get Him to the Greek, which Forgetting Sarah Marshall co-stars Jonah Hill and Russell Brand will star in. Stoller will write and direct this one, with Apatow presumably once again producing. |

I just wanted to let everyone know that the reason there is a lack of updates this week is because there literally is nothing new. There is no major news coming out of anywhere and it's all quiet on every front. I suppose this could be called the calm before the summer storm. Iron Man hits theaters in just over a week and will officially kick off the 2008 summer movie season. Studios and producers and directors are all working fiendishly to finish their big blockbusters and prepare an enormous amount of marketing and publicity to reign down beginning in May. It'll pick up again soon, that's a guarantee… |

[Editor’s Note: This is an awesome early review of Iron Man. As you can see, the hype may all be worth it, after all. Also, be warned, while this review doesn’t have Spoilers, it does give some stuff away that you might not want to know at this point. Read at your own risk.] When iron gets cool it’s really cool, and when it gets hot it’s really hot. So naturally, we got the same thing happening with Iron Man the movie. |
