First Look: Disney's Rapunzel PDF Print

Rapunzel
Largely because there is a lack of anything else newsworthy so far this week, I thought I should throw this out there before we hit the summer movie season anyway. We first mentioned Rapunzel in the announcement of Disney and Pixar's Full Animated Line-Up Through 2012, although the film has been in the works for quite a long time. The animated film is now slated for release in December of 2010 after recently being revamped at Disney. You can check out a few new concept art photos below.

In this new telling of the classic fairy tale, Rapunzel, audiences will be transported to a stunning CG fantasy world complete with the iconic tower, an evil witch, a gallant hero and, of course, the mysterious girl with the long golden tresses.

Does This Scare You? New Poster for The Strangers PDF Print

The Strangers
I'm trying to gauge the level of interest and the level of scariness of this upcoming movie - The Strangers. It is one of the only horror movie hitting theaters this entire summer (besides maybe The X-Files: I Want to Believe or Baghead or Midnight Meat Train), which goes to show that Universal seems pretty damn confident in it. STYD has debuted the latest poster which features nothing more than a scene cut directly from the trailer (how original). It's interesting that they chose this photo because I'm guessing they think it's going to creep people out enough to get them to see it. So I'm wondering, does it scare you?

Moon Bloodgood Joins Terminator 4 Cast PDF Print

Moon Bloodgood
Journeyman star Moon Bloodgood is the latest the join the cast of Terminator 4 (remember it's no longer titled Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins?). She joins as the lead female character alongside of Christian Bale as John Connor, Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese and Sam Worthington. This puts an end to those rumors that hit the internet last week that claimed that Terminator 4 was being shut down. Not sure what to say about this - Bloodgood seems like an acceptable choice for the female lead.

The only information we have on her character is that she will play "a no-nonsense and battle-hardened member of the resistance."

Worth Watching - April 21: Henry Poole Is Here Trailer PDF Print

Henry Poole
The first trailer for Mark Pellington's comedy Henry Poole Is Here has finally debuted. The film initially debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and was bought by Overture Films. Luke Wilson stars as Henry Poole, a guy who has nearly given up on life until his neighbor finds the face of Jesus in the stucco on his wall. Yea, it's a high concept, but apparently it played pretty well at Sundance and it looks at least mediocre. Maybe it's better than this trailer is making it out to be? At least they chose some great music and at least Radha Mitchell looks like a worthy addition to the cast.

Will Hancock Be the Biggest Movie of the Summer? PDF Print

Hancock
Biggest box-office hero of Summer 2008? Yeah, maybe it'll be Indiana Jones. Maybe it'll be the cute animated robot Wall-E. But maybe -- just maybe -- it'll be Will Smith as the super antihero Hancock.

Smith's got the upcoming Fourth of July weekend to himself, which is probably a wise thing: Smith has been the king of that holiday weekend since at least Independence Day more than a decade ago. In fact, Smith is the king of whatever weekend he opens a movie on: I Am Legend opened with more than $77 million over a non-holiday weekend, and only just left theaters last week, having taken in a quarter of a billion bucks domestically and more than half a billion worldwide. So it would probably be foolish to bet against Smith and Hancock.
